Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found many other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report early analysis show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior representative stated the incident made him stunned and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
